Grade 3 Cinco de Mayo Celebration

Grade 3 Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5th. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. It is celebrated with  parades, food, music, folkloric dancing.

Third grade had their own celebration in their classroom arranged by Sra Pattani, their Spanish teacher. They had Mariachi music playing in the background while enjoying freshly made cheese quesadillas, corn and bean salad, salsa, chips, guacamole, lemonade and churros. The students had a lot of fun and enjoyed their Fiesta!

Thank you Sra. Pattani for making this a very special celebration for us!
