Debate Finals

Congratulations to CHP on winning the final NJ Middle School Debate Championships! The team, comprised of CHP students Agni Rajinikanth, Keyon Majidi and Matthew Clarke, finished as the top school with the most number of points at the tournament. The final debate topic that clinched the tournament championship was Facial Recognition Technology Does More Harm than Good. We are all very proud of our teams! Read More

International Academic Competitions

Cedar Hill Prep School congratulates its twenty-three students who flew to Chicago to participate in the National Finals of the International Academic Competitions in the History Bee, Science Bee, Academic Bee, Geography Bee, Geography Olympiad, and History Bowl. Having advanced from the Regional Competitions to the National Finals, these CHP students were thrilled to have an opportunity to join approximately 1600 students at this next level of competition. Congratulations to: Karthikeya Kodali, grade 5, as the 3rd place winner of the National Science Bee, Elementary School Division; Rohan Jay, grade 7, and Sriram Banigallapati, grade 5, as the semifinalists of the Science Bee. Spanish Examinations

Congratulations to Cedar Hill Prep’s Spanish language students who attained national recognition for excellent performance in the 2019 National Spanish Examinations. The National Spanish Examinations are the most widely used tests of Spanish in the United States. In the spring of 2019, over 146,000 students participated in the National Spanish Examinations. National French Contest, Le Grand Concours

Congratulations to Cedar Hill Prep for their first participation in the National French Contest, Le Grand Concours, an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take an online test and compete against students with similar educational backgrounds for prizes. Grades 1-6 participate in the FLES Contest. Grades 7-12 in the Secondary Contest. Read More

Math League Competition

Cedar Hill Prep 7th and 8th grade students participated in the MATHCOUNTS Middle School Chapter Competition at Mercer Community College. There were 170 students participating from 20 schools in the area. For Cedar Hill Prep, 8th Grader, Karishma Gupta, won the award for Best in School. We are very proud of her achievements and of all the students who participated. Read More

St Joseph Math Competition

Twelve CHP 7th and 8th grade Math students participated in the 13th Annual St. Joseph Mathematics Contest. Students from 15 schools attended, and our very own 8th grade student, Shyam Parikh, tied for 11th place in the entire competition. Continental Mathematics League

Grade three participates in the Continental Math League every year. Two third graders, Sahana Aravindakshan and Shray Chandwani, won awards and medals for being the National Winners for the Euclidean Division. Read More

RoboCup Junior

“CHPS United” Robotics Team presented “Robot Idol” as part of the 2019 RoboCup Junior USA OnStage competition on May 19th. The competition (ages 12– 19) integrates science, technology, engineering, and the arts. The students presented a two minute creative stage performance, including choreography, set design and construction, costume design, music, and video design. They used autonomous robots that they designed, built and programmed. Read More

National Science Bowl

Science Bowl challenges the students’ knowledge of Science and Math. We encourage our students to take part in National Science Bowl to enhance their classroom learnings and to have a deeper understanding of their subjects. On Friday, February 22, a team from Cedar Hill Prep competed in the annual Middle School Science Bowl at Princeton Plasma Physics Lab. The students returned to great applause for their high scores in all areas of the Science and Math disciplines. Read More

National Science League

Second, third and fourth grade students of Cedar Hill Prep participate in National Science League every year. The students compete with other students on the same grade level from schools all over the United States. The contest is comprised of multiple choice questions which are based on factual knowledge as well as students’ understanding of scientific processes. NJ State Chess Tournament

CHP competed in the NJ State Chess Tournament at Brookdale Community College on Sunday, February 24th. NJ’s 270 best K-8 chess players attended the event! Priyansh Shrivastava finished 4th in the NJ Middle School section with 4 wins and 1 loss. Great job! Read More

Junior Solar Sprints

CHP encourages and provides support for the Junior Solar Sprints which challenges students to use their scientific knowledge, creative thinking, and experimentation skills to develop new vehicles and fuel technologies. Students have to design and build high-performance solar vehicles addressing the transportation issues in the US due to environmental constraints, oil availability and economic factors. Read More
