Trunk or Treat Parade

CHP Halloween

This October marked a return to CHP’s outdoor Fall festivities. Parents were invited to join their children at school to encourage them during the Trunk or Treat parade, where students were able to showcase their Halloween costumes in succession. As they moved from one car to the next, collecting candy as they went, the CHP Trunk or Treaters brought a sense of fun and creative fashion to the school as they got back to making memories. Parents also contributed directly to the occasion, with many parents using their car trunks as part of the cavalcade of costumes. The CHP staff was excited to see all the in-person celebration, as the students were delighted to see and be seen in their very creative outfits.

Parents also took part in the scarecrow competition, designing and constructing scarecrows at home which were brought to the school for judging and then displayed along the front entrance to CHP during our Halloween parade. These unique scarecrows weren’t intended to keep birds at bay, but to invite Halloween spirit to the school and inspire a willingness in the contestants to stretch their imagination to its limits.

The scarecrow competition had winners in each of CHP’s four student Houses, with first place honors going to First Grader Milan Williams of the Cherokee Bears and Kindergartener Ian Johnson of the Shawnee Beavers in a tie decision. The second place winner was Second Grader Ishana Vasanthan of the Lenape Owls. In Third Place, the tied winners were Fourth Grader Lily Trotta of the Lenape Owls and Kindergartener Connor Mitchell of the Ramapo Falcons.

We’re looking forward to plenty more seasonal activities throughout the school year ahead and hope to share all of these special events with the greater Cedar Hill Prep community.  Congratulations and thanks to all of our contest winners and parade participants!
