Grade 6 Nile River Project

Mrs. Calllahan’s 6th Grade Social Studies students have recently completed a unit of study on ancient Egypt as well as the impact the Nile River had on the ancient Egyptian economy. As part of the study, students stretched their artistic and creative muscles by working in groups to create a model of ancient Egypt along the Nile.

Students also designed a travel brochure inviting people to travel back -in -time to visit the civilization of ancient Egypt. Each group examined the features of a brochure and what writers use to entice prospective travelers. Students worked to create ” sound bites”, search for photos related to the time period, maps and diagrams. Within the brochures, students included information about ancient Egyptian culture, food, cities as well as hieroglyphic messages. Students did an amazing job and created colorful and eye-catching travel brochures.

We invite you to” Come To The Nile” on display in the foyer of the Middle School.
