Demi Osinubi, Keynote Speaker

Demi Osinubi, a Grade 7 student at Cedar Hill Prep School in Somerset NJ, represented the NJ Orators at the Manhattan Institute Conference in New York City on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017. Demi rendered a dramatic interpretation of the poem, “Lord, Lord, why did you make me black?”

He had the honor to present to the U.S. Secretary of HUD, Dr. Benjamin Carson M.D, privately and then to the conference attendees, NAACP Metuchen-Edison branch’s Annual Gala, and the NJ Orators Annual Gala.

Demi was then invited to the 21st Annual Franklin Township Community Breakfast on January 15th, 2018 at the Doubletree Hotel in Somerset, NJ to present the rendition again. Mr. Seeley and Mrs. Nan Menon were able to attend the event and watch Demi enthrall the audience with his rendition of the poem. They loved it so much that they asked Demi to present it to the entire CHP Middle School.

Great job, Demi! We are all very proud of you.
