Both Kindergarten classes learned all about Chinese New Year! Stories and traditions were shared about this very special celebration that lasts for 15 days. This year Chinese New Year began on February 12th. Families exchange gifts such as red envelopes containing money on Chinese New Year. People eat special foods to symbolize prosperity and family unity. Chinese dragons are a symbol of strength in China’s culture and bring good luck to people. Celebrations include a dragon dance and fireworks! The kindergarten students created dragon masks in celebration of Chinese New Year!
