Middle school Finance Club Elective

Finance Club

During the Cedar Hill Prep School Finance Club Elective, was enriched with a very informative, inspiring, and insightful session on Financial Investments by Arnav Tolat, a high school senior at Franklin High School.  Arnav and his team came in 1st place (nationally) in the Stock Market Game when he was in 8th Grade. Arnav spoke to the students about the basics of Stocks, his experience with the Stock Market Game, and financial strategies he and his team utilized. Many of the students asked relevant questions, and we were very fortunate to hear his story, and though only a high school Senior, Arnav spoke like a true Investment Advisor! In fact, he mentioned how playing this game in Middle School steered his aspirations toward Finance and Economics in high school, and for his future. We are very grateful to Arnav to take time out of his schedule and motivate our middle school students.  Arnav also shared a video of himself ringing the NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell, as a reward from winning.

All Cedar Hill Prep School 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have been participating in the “Stock Market Game”, a national educational program that provides Financial Literacy to middle- and high-school students.

The Cedar Hill Prep School Finance Club students have been learning about different stock indicators (beta, P/E ratio) as well as the difference between different financial investments (Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds), and diversification strategies in making sound investment decisions.

Thanks to Arnav, let us hope we can become wiser investors!
